DriveBoosters™
DC voltage is used to reduce the energy lost in long distance single-phase cables. Rectifying and smoothing the voltage can deliver the same amount of power at a fraction of the line current. A single-phase cable can transfer up to four times the amount of power when DC is used.
At the end of a cable, DC must be converted into three-phase power in a variable frequency drive.
Applications:
1. Save on cable cost: Install a light cable.
2. Increase the capacity of an existing cable.
3. Single to three-phase conversion.
4. Low to high voltage three-phase voltage.

240V single-phase to DC to a 240V VFD
240V single-phase to DC to a 415V VFD
240V single-phase to DC to a 480V VFD
Smoothed DC Current is lower than AC current.
480V single-phase to DC to a 415V VFD
